Kelly ShortandQueer, Annah Anti-Palindrome, and On a Clear Day at the Denver Zine Library The Bay Area's Annah Anti-Palindrome gracefully walks the line between musician and performance artist, crafting deeply confessional songs using a loop pedal and often combining them with audience participation activities as well as engaging performance pieces. The fascinating, engaging artist will be joined by what the Zine Library is calling other "queerly antagonistic performances" by local zinester Kelly ShortandQueer and Seattle's On a Clear Day. But this Friday, they're also adding a no cost class in Vedic Astrology that promises to teach you "how you are connected to the Universe and what is the true purpose of your life." Feed Denver Poster Show at Hinterland (Friday, free) The folks at Feed Denver are united under one idea: that humans have a basic right to eat high quality, low waste food. They'll continue to try to make that right a reality for people in Denver tonight through this show, which will unite Denver artists in a poster show and auction whose proceeds will go to support the cause.Huge Comedy Show at the Oriental Theater (Saturday, $10) Onus Spears' periodic comedy night is known for a diverse line-up and of course, lots of laughs. Tonight it will include Portland-based headliner Ron Funches as well as local favorites Adam Cayton-Holland, Chris Carpentier, and Michael Carter and music from Wheelchair Sports Camp.

A Very CMKY Winter Zone Out Party at Cherryvale Studio (Saturday, $5-10) Communikey will present this mulitmedia night of electronic music, featuring ambient music and visual media from Offthesky, Radere, and C. Yantis. It promises to be an intriguing night that will push the boundaries of sonic art.
Maya Calendar 2012 Lecture at the Denver Art Museum (Sunday, $10) It's not the end of the world. At least, that's what Maya Exploration Center director Ed Barnhart will stress tonight at his DAM lecture about how all this talk about the Mayan calendar apocalypse on December 21 is not anything to worry about. Phew. Time to finally eat all those canned goods you've been storing since the world didn't end in the year 2000.
