Off Panel at Wazee Union (Friday, free) Spend First Friday with Colorado's comic-book creators this free cosplay event, art show and party. Dress up, look at art and bring a sketchbook to try your own hand at drawing; burlesque and drag-queen models will be on hand to pose for drawing sessions.
12 Hour Improv-a-thon at the Bovine Metropolis Theater (Friday, by donation) Watching twelve hours of straight improv sounds a little like one of the circles of hell, but in smaller time increments this event is sure to be a blast. Stop in any time from noon to midnight and pay what you can to see the fine performers at the Bovine Metropolis Theater do sketches -- all to benefit the theater's scholarship fund.
Girls! Girls! Girls! at Lowbrow Denver (Friday, free) Pinup girls will be the focus of a joint art show tonight featuring the work of artists Mike Geiger and Brett Nienburg. Get a full dose of the male point of view in this artistic celebration of scantily clad women.
Forever Mankind at Love Gallery (Friday, free) Support local graphic novels tonight at Jake Fairly's release party for his brand-new book, Forever Mankind. The bound work will be for sale; the original inked pages will be hanging on the walls of Love Gallery.
Ryan Rice Art Show at the R2 Gallery (Friday, free) Best known for his witty, pun-based paintings, pop-culture artist Ryan Rice will display his new series called "The Dude" tonight at his Tennyson Studios gallery. There are plenty of openings tonight, but this is definitely one not to miss. 5 Year Anniversary at Luxe de Vil Salon (Friday, free) Party in honor of five years of the devilish couture and hair salon Luxe de Vil tonight at this birthday bash. Eat snacks, drink drinks and look at the special Sanrio-themed art show that will line the walls of the salon.
Mile High Soul Club at Beauty Bar (Saturday, $8) DJs Tyler Jacobson, DJ Dogboy and Steve Cervantes always throw one of the best nights in Denver at Mile High Soul Club, but tonight is extra special: The club night will host its first musical guest, R&B sensation Nikki Hill, with her very first Denver performance.
Free Day at the Denver Art Museum (Saturday, free) It's that wonderful day of the month when the art museum opens its doors for free to Colorado residents -- so be sure to keep many hours free to look at temporary exhibits like Thomas Moran's Yellowstone: A Project for the Nation and Seen in Passing: Photographs by Chuck Forsman, as well as the museum's permanent collection.
