Get ready to place your paws on DIBS, or Denver Independent Boutiques, this Saturday. Because come sunshine or snowfall, DIBS creator and Rakun owner, Meghan Throckmorton, along with her contemporaries, will host an event called Sweetheart Boutique Crawl.

"This event is one way that we can encourage shoppers to buy from local fashion designers and support local business owners," she says. "We formed DIBS last November as a way to help each other grow and expand and cross-promote our stores. We will have an event at least once a season."

Nine different Denver boutiques will participate, offering several different activities and treats to shoppers looking for the niche retail experience. Visit the DIBS website for the full map of boutiques taking part in the crawl, which runs from noon to 5 p.m.

Activity Schedule:

Fast Geek Boutique will have a "Lucky Hearts" game with a $50 gift card for the winner, as well as treats for all shoppers.

Hazel and Dewey will host a heart garlands making station, and distribute homemade treats with every purchase.

I Heart Denver Store owner, Samuel Schimek, will ask guests to write love letters to the city of Denver. The letters will be displayed on Facebook and sent to Mayor Michael Hancock.

Indyink will set up a screen print station to help you create your own Valentine.

Kitty Mae Millinery will provide homemade cookies and other treats for shoppers to enjoy with one-on-one shopping help.

Megafauna will launch the Mad Hatteris Spring line and Piñata Party at 5 pm with Valentine treats and Megafauna deals.

New Culture Boutique will provide cookies, one-on-one shopping help and unveil a new line of lingerie.

Rakun will set up a DIY paper flowers station to help you fold up your own unique bouquet.

Thread will teach shoppers to make homemade body scrubs, because nothing is more fashionable and attractive than good personal hygiene.
