The Travel Channel will air four back-to-back episodes on Thursday, starting with Episode 3, featuring Alex Honnold's free solo attempt on the 2,000-foot wall of Half Dome; Episode 5, featuring the final days and tragic end of climber Micah Dash, Boulder Adventure Film Festival founder Johnny Copp and Sender Films' own director, editor and cameraman Wade Johnson on China's Mount Edgar; Episode 6, featuring free solo climber/BASE jumper Dean Potter and Episode 1, featuring climber Chris Sharma.

From the press release:

"The series is our proudest achievement yet, a culmination of years of production, with story-telling and cinematography that take our work to a new level," said Nick Rosen of Sender Films. "It's also the first of its kind to be broadcast on television worldwide."

According to Cathryn Garland, The Travel Channel's Head of Acquisitions, "'First Ascent' is one of the most visually stunning, jaw-dropping adventure-travel series we've ever seen. We knew we had to have it."
