Zombie Paintball Hunt Itching to shoot at some zombies from the back of a wagon? Well, why wouldn't you be? Shooting at stuff is always a good time, especially when it's the reanimated dead. For the second year, Anderson Farms is inviting you to come kill dead things from the back of their wagon. They supply the paintball guns and ammo, you just point and shoot. Plus, you never know when that practice is going to come in handy -- you don't think those undead hordes are just going to let you drive your Prius through them on your way up to your fortress in the mountains, do you? Hell no! You'll be shooting your way out and glad you had a chance to practice in a safe environment.

Hunts run from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday all month at Anderson Farms, plus on Halloween. Tickets are $20 and include admission to the fall festival. Get more information at the Zombie Paintball Hunt website.

Zombie Dash Get your team of two to six zombie slayers together and get ready for a zombie themed urban race. Solve riddles, make your away across town and conquer zombie themed challenges everywhere you go. Then get drunk afterward, with a few hundred of your fellow zombie racers! In other words, it's just like every other urban race you've done or seen, only with zombies. So 100 percent more awesome and 500 percent more bloody.

11 a.m. to 3 p.m. October 5, starting at Casselman's. Registration is $56 per person, with discounts if you register your team simultaneously. For more info and to register, visit the Zombie Dash website.

Zombie Murder There you are, holed up in a bunker to wait out the zombie apocalypse when BOOM! Someone gets murdered. Now you've got to help solve the murder and avoid those brain-eating freaks. Yep, it's a old-fashioned murder-mystery event, with added zombies. Why not? Makes more sense than a zombie fashion show, since damn near every zombie movie features one or two bad guys (or at least really dumb and dangerous guys) among the survivors.

Every Saturday night of the month, starting October 5. The night starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Adams Mystery Playhouse. Tickets are $15 to $27. For more info and to buy, visit the Adams Mystery Playhouse website.

Zombie Crawl If you only do one zombie event this October, this is probably the one. Thousands of enthusiasts transform themselves into zombies, then walk up and down the mall for hours. There are bands. There is blood. There are a lot of your fellow enthusiasts about, so if you're looking to meet that special, undead someone, this may be your best shot. Also, it's free, so there's that.

Start your crawling festivities as early as 2 p.m. (come at noon if you need some help with your makeup) at Skyline Park and plan on sticking around until at least 4:30 p.m. (the crawl proper starts at 4). It goes until 8 p.m., when the afterparties start at the Meadowlark and Casselman's. For more information, visit the EyeHeartBrains website.

Drop Dead Gorgeous The cream of Denver's zombie crop will already be downtown for the undead madness of the zombie walk, so the Denver Pavilions was like, "Fuck it, let's throw a zombie fashion show!" Competition is open and its free to enter, so if you've always thought you were the undead freak with the best style, this is your chance to prove it and win some prizes in the process. Or just watch zombies in fancy dresses walk around. Whatever.

Register between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Pavilions. Show starts at 6:30 p.m. and you have to be there to win (duh). For more info, visit the Drop Dead Gorgeous Facebook event page.

Zombie Apocalypse Preparedness Class The month's zombie madness wraps up with the most important event of all -- the Zombie Apocalypse Preparedness Class. Look, when there's no more room in hell, you don't want to be the guy trying to figure out which leaves are okay to use as toilet paper. You need to get that shit sorted before undead armageddon hits, okay? Plus, then you'll also know what to do when you manage to get lost in the woods hiking, even if there aren't any zombies around.

Get your learn on starting at 6:30 p.m. October 29 at the Boulder REI or October 30 at the Denver REI. Admission is free, but you can preregister and learn more at the REI zombie preparedness event page.
