Denver's best movie theater for programming, the Landmark Chez Artiste Theatre, closed today for three weeks while it undergoes a major renovation.

The theater, tucked into a strip mall off South Colorado Boulevard, is getting "comfortable new seats, new carpeting and state-of-the-art digital projectors," according to a spokesman for the Landmark chain, which also owns the Mayan and the Esquire.

It will reopen on October 18.

Westword will update this post with more details when we get them.
