Drink This at Fancy Tiger Clothing (Friday, free) Fancy Tiger Clothing will become a speakeasy tonight to celebrate the launch of its new barware section. Check out the fancy glasses while you sip on drinks provided by local distiller Leopold Bros. and buy sandwiches from Tifamade.
The Afterparty at RedLine (Friday, free) After First Friday gallery-hopping, head to RedLine for the Afterparty, which is just what it sounds like. Have a drink, listen to music by local band Landlines, and check out the RedLine exhibition A New Attitude: Chen Man's Provocative Interpretations of Contemporary Chinese Women.
One: En Masse at The Laundry on Lawrence (Friday, free) The opening for this group art show should be one big party. Check out the interactive exhibits while listening to tunes by local musicians, drinking wine and eating food from local vendors. The after-party is free, too: Hit the Savoy in Curtis Park at 10 p.m. to keep the fun going.
Mile High Soul Club at Beauty Bar (Saturday, free before 10 p.m.) Right after winning our award for Best Club Night, Mile High Soul Club is back with what's always a killer dance party. Stop in before 10 p.m. for free admission, but if you arrive later, save your sweat for the dance floor: The cover is only $3 after 10.
Escanaba in Da Moonlight at the Parker Mainstreet Center (Saturday, $10 with code: Westword) Admission to this play presented by the Parker Arts Council is normally $15, but if you use the code "Westword" at the door you can get in for just $10. The comedy tells the story of a man who wants to stop being known as the "Buckless Yooper," and promises to be a great bargain night of theater.
Teen Pop-Up Shop at MCA Denver (Saturday, 1 cent) Buy handmade wares of all sorts from area teens tonight at a bazaar put on by Failure Lab, the MCA's teen program. Anyone twenty or over can get in for just a penny -- and use the rest of their money to buy jewelry, T-shirts, bags, art, buttons, screenprints and more.
Free Day at the Denver Art Museum (Saturday, free) Free days at the Denver Art Museum are always a treat, and it's that time of the month again. You don't have to pay an admission fee to get in, then wander the halls and check out the incredible collection.
MaxFund Dedication Ceremony at MaxFund (Saturday, free) Spend your Saturday amidst cute dogs at the new MaxFund facility. The dedication for the new space will include refreshments and tours of the no-kill shelter.
