In this morning's "yes, people really are that fucked up" news, a mask version of the recently acquitted Casey Anthony sold on eBay for close to one million dollars. The anonymous buyer won out over more than one hundred bids on the scary piece of latex.

While mask itself is immediately the most disturbing part of this story, we want to know why someone would pay so much money for it. Modern halloween costume technology would lead us to believe a piece of latex like this shouldn't be that hard to produce. So why would someone want to buy one for $999,900?

There is no information on the purchaser, only the price they paid for the replica of Anthony's downturned grin. But really, with that kind of money sitting around and available for such a gruesome purchase, why doesn't the buyer put the cash to good use instead? We're sure the National Center For Missing And Exploited Children could very well use a million dollars.
