Hollywood is coming to Colorado (again)! In the midst of a push by movie boosters to increase the state's film incentives, an initiative born of the fact that filmmakers have largely abandoned the state for cheaper locales, word comes down that Disney will shoot part of a remake of The Lone Ranger here and will hold casting calls next month in Durango, Alamosa and Colorado Springs. The movie's star? Johnny Depp.

Los Angeles-based Sande Alessi Casting is heading up the effort. According to their website, they've cast such films as Austin Powers: Goldmember, Zoolander and Fight Club. The call for The Lone Ranger is specific: they're looking for Asian and Native American men; people with lazy eyes and "grizzled and wrinkled faces;" and circus performers. Know anyone like that? Tell them to get their butts to Durango.
