The high security mandated for all medical marijuana centers has foiled plenty of morons who incorrectly thought they were about to make a big score. A case in point was a May 2012 MMC break-in that netted the thieves a broken scale and $8 from the karma jar.
A would-be criminal mastermind came away with even less last week after busting a dispensary window with a water jug -- and a camera managed to snap plenty of creepy photos during his visit. See the shots and get more details below.
The smash-and-try-to-grab took place at Green Cross of Cherry Creek, but not at the location our William Breathes reviewed this past May. The dispensary announced on its Facebook page circa October 2 that it had moved to a new spot: 3400 South Oneida Way.
Less than a week later, on October 8, the Denver Police Department says a man busted into the dispensary's secured lobby area using a unique method: He hurled a ten-gallon bottle of water through one of the interior windows.
Next, he tried to force his way into the employee area, to no avail, after which he took out his frustration by trying to tear a television from a nearby wall.
The TV proved impervious to his efforts, which were documented by a security camera in images like this one....
...and this one: What did he manage to take? Denver Police Department spokesman Sonny Jackson tells us that "it doesn't appear the suspect got anything."
Nonetheless, the DPD would still like to put this guy in cuffs. If you have any information about the incident, you're encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867), which is offering a reward of up to $2,000 in the case.
Here are more photos of the suspect.
