According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Brandon Gaitan and Keith Paris II, both 19, had what must have seemed like a good idea at the time: break into the apartment of someone on vacation and do whatever for as long as they wanted. Problem is, said vacationer returned home to find them still hanging out. Gaitan and Paris reportedly responded by drawing guns, taking some shit and splitting. Problem: the victim knew who they were. And now he knows where they are -- in custody.

Douglas County Detectives Arrest Two Adult Males in Home Invasion BurglaryDOUGLAS COUNTY: Detectives from the Douglas County Pattern Crimes Unit, which is comprised of detectives from the Sheriff's Office and the Parker Police Department, finished up a big part of their investigation into a home invasion burglary and robbery by arresting the second of two suspects.
On 05/29/09, at around 12:35 am, deputies responded to the 9000 block of Pyramid Ct in Englewood, located in unincorporated Douglas County, on the report of a burglary that just occurred in the apartment of the reporting party/victim. The victim reported that when he returned home from vacation he found one of his outside locks had been tampered with. When he entered the apartment he discovered two adult males; one black male and one white male. The two males ordered him to get down and both displayed handguns. They took certain items out of the victim's apartment and fled the scene. The victim relayed to the responding deputies that he believed he knew the two suspects.
One suspect, Brandon Gaitan, age 19 from Centennial was taken into custody shortly after the incident and taken to the Douglas County Detention Facility. Keith Paris II, age 19 from Denver, was identified a few days later and taken into custody on 06/03/09. Both suspects are currently in custody facing charges of:
First Degree Burglary, Aggravated Robbery, Theft, Conspiracy, Menacing, False Imprisonment, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Criminal Mischief.
Both are being held on $65,000 bond.
