This Hip Tip was originally published in the February 11-17, 1999 issue of Westword, at the height of the go-go Nineties! On February 12, 1999, the U.S. Senate failed to get the two-thirds majority vote that it needed to convict and remove President Clinton from office for the perjury and obstruction of justice charges in the Monica Lewinski case. The Broncos had just won their second Super Bowl victory; Denver homes were increasing in value at 10 percent a year; and unemployment didn't even exist. The jubilant were unloading their revolvers into the sky, and that created a problem with the utmost gravity. The Gunbrella® respected a person's right to bear their happiness, while protecting them from their own gleefire.
