David McSwane was back in the pages of the Denver dailies today, with a page-five article in the Rocky Mountain News detailing how the editor-in-chief of the Rocky Mountain Collegian at Colorado State University will be allowed to keep his job after the whole “Fuck Bush” debacle.
Appearing next to McSwane in a photo was Qusair (misspelled) Mohamedbhai, McSwane’s attorney, a man who knows a thing or two about having his name dragged through the mud.
Mohamedbhai, a Canadian citizen who'd graduated from the University of Wyoming Law School, was mistakenly labeled a terrorist when he tried to open a bank account at Commercial Federal Bank in May 2004, as reported here. Mohamedbhai sued, arguing that he was a victim of racial profiling, and the case went to trial in July -- but the jury could not reach a unanimous decision on any of the claims, which included slander and discrimination.
Mohamedbhai’s attorneys have since filed a motion for a new trial. But in the meantime, Mohamedbhai could have his hands full trying to defend the civil rights of his latest client.. – Adam Cayton-Holland
