Albertsons workers reach tentative agreement on new contract

In December, King Soopers employees approved a new contract offer, while Safeway workers rejected pretty much the same package. But Albertsons staffers were mostly silent -- until now.

According to the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7 website, "Albertsons has offered a tentative agreement for Denver, Colorado Springs and Grand Junction workers." Moreover, a slew of so-called "Ratification/Strike meetings" have been set up for voting purposes, with the first taking place in Denver tomorrow; employees in Colorado Springs will cast ballots on Friday, while those in Grand Junction are slated to weigh in next Tuesday.
