Last month, we told you about a case involving Abby Toll, who was told she couldn't offer a mental-impairment claim as a defense against a bizarre animal cruelty charge: She was accused of affixing her boyfriend's dog upside-down to a refrigerator using packing tape and hair bands.

That ruling pretty much sealed Toll's fate, which became official yesterday when a Boulder jury promptly convicted her. The Boulder Daily Camera did a first-rate job covering Toll's trial via live blogs like this one, as well as the video above, which captures an emotional Toll fleeing the courtroom after the verdict was announced. She's scheduled for sentencing on May 28, and while her attorney promises an appeal, this particular tale of the tape seems close to its conclusion.
