Members of the Occupy Denver movement will hold a press conference at 10 p.m. in the wake of Governor John Hickenlooper and Mayor Michael Hancock's announcement that the group can no longer camp out on the grounds of the Colorado State Capitol overnight.

The group issued a press release this afternoon, which you can read below.

EMERGENCY PRESS CONFERENCE: ARRESTS IMMINENT

A Formal Statement of Our Right to Assemble from Occupy Denver

Governor Hickenlooper held a press statement today citing city ordinances at Lincoln Park as the reason for dispersing Occupy Denver: "This is about health [and] safety of the Occupy Denver protesters, and the public."

Without foresight, Governor Hickenlooper contends ordinances and permits override our Constitutional right to assemble.

Occupy Denver would like to redress our grievances regarding a number of issues. In short, we believe that the government controls the people instead of the people controlling the government fiscal accountability, responsibility, and transparency is a requirement of responsible government the current debt load and the economy should be immediately addressed campaign fraud must end

Even if you do not agree with our political position, please support us in our First Amendment rights to peacefully assemble and redress our grievances - we would do the same for you.

We send an open invitation to City, County, and State officials to come and give a statement. This includes, Governor Hickenlooper, the Chief of State Patrol, and City Council members. Please join Occupy Denver at a press conference this evening, October 13th, at 10:00 pm to further discuss our Constitutional right to assemble.
