Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.
Andrew Romanoff's got more than an uphill battle when it comes to winning the 2010 Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate. His angle of ascent's as vertical as it can be, what with
the White House throwing its support behind Bill Ritter nominee Michael Bennet. With that in mind, he's traveling the state in search of backing even in places where Democrats are often treated like Communist sympathizers -- like, for instance, Elbert County. During his visit there yesterday, he noted that you can "swing a dead cat" and hit a Democrat in Denver, but to affiliate with the party in Elbert takes "a lot of cojones, a lot of chutzpah." Talk about a multi-cultural compliment. Get a sample of his pitch by watching the video above.
