Also killed was Jose Gutierrez-Peredia, 25. And while police haven't made an arrest yet in the case (unlike the Abram slaying), investigators are confident they know who pulled the trigger: Victor Baltazar, 39. However, his current whereabouts are unknown. Look below for crime details and more photos of Baltazar.
At 10:20 p.m. on Sunday, September 1, according to the Denver Police Department, officers were called to the Mariposa Apartments, at 1330 West Mississippi Avenue. The complex is seen in this DPD photo:
There, they found the body of Gutierrez-Peredia, who'd been shot and killed.
Investigators quickly gathered enough evidence to justify a first-degree-murder arrest warrant in Baltazar's name and released the following photo, found on his Facebook page:
Neither the page from which this photo was culled or another one in Baltazar's name overflow with content. But they do include a few other images, all of which show him sporting Western finery. Here's one shot.... ...and another: Anyone with information about Baltazar and where he's currently holing up is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867). A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered in the case.
In the meantime, our condolences to the friends, family and loved ones of Jose Gutierrez-Peredia.
