Cervante's Masterpiece greenroom was named the Best Greenroom in 2012 by Westword. When the venue opened, the greenroom was the women's bathroom, and vis versa. Through a renovation, both got moved, creating a larger space for both the rooms. The mural is a custom piece by Patrick Beery. This mixing board is a new addition to the venue. It works in conjunction with a new sound system that includes a Meyer MICALine Array with four boxes per side and six Meyer 650P subs. Specific audio specs can be seen on their website. This lifted lounge area was added within the last few years, giving concert goers a place to sit, chill, and recharge. The patio area opened this summer, with a building-sized mural by and John Bukaty. The stage, seating and table were created soley from wood gathered in the after math of the 2013 floods, mostly from the areas around Lyons. It was created by Tommy Lyle of Wood of a Kind.Although the venue has made several changes to adapt to its larger audiences, there are still plenty of changes Morrill hopes to see in the future. Adding in larger front doors and a better sound system in the balcony currently top the list. "We are working hard to make Cervantes' the best experience that [people] can have, watching music with their friends," he says.
And although patio season may be coming to a close, Cervantes' has some exciting shows to look forward to in the coming months, including a huge two-day anniversary show on Januaray 16-17, Mac Miller, Nappy Roots, Chris Robinson, 2 Chainz and more. Plans are already underway for next year's 4/20 blowout, as well.
