Bites of China opened recently in a tidy Aurora shopping center on East Alameda Avenue, where residents are no strangers to an array of ethnic eating options. Bites of China offers the usual array of fast-casual Chinese-American dishes -- think egg foo young, Kung Pao chicken, egg rolls and wontons. But there are also a few house specials from the Xinjiang region -- like Ding Ding noodles and cumin lamb kebobs -- as well as less frequently seen dishes from other regions of China, including scallion oil noodles, Old Beijing minced pork and fish-flavored shredded pork. Dishes with names like the Cowboy Prince and Cowboy Princess promise "fried pies," also done Xinjiang-style.

Bites of China is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Keep reading for a visual taste of what you'll find there.
