We survived the snowiest February on record, and while it's still cold outside, activities around town are starting to heat up. This week you can celebrate your city, meet an author and laugh with some ladies over Cosmos — all for free. 303 Day
at Illegal Pete's (all day Tuesday, free)
Thanks to rap music, area codes have become a way to show love for your city. Between the 212 and 206 the lies the 303, and when better to celebrate the Mile High City than on the third day of the third month? Show your love for Denver by wearing anything Colorado-related to any of the Illegal Pete's locations today, and get free coffee in the morning, then free chips and salsa later on. That's just the start of the celebrations at the Pete's spots that stretch from the DTC to Fort Collins; check out the complete lineup here

Jennifer Chiaverini Reading, Q&A and Book signing at Tattered Cover Colfax (7 p.m. Thursday, free)
New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Chiaverini will be in Denver to discuss and sign her newest book, Mrs. Grant and Madame Jule. The story imagines the relationship between First Lady Julia Grant and her slave/ best friend, Jule. The two women form an uncanny friendship that jumps racial barriers, family and the law. Read more about it here, and then let Chiaverini tell you more on March 5.

Sex and the Witty at The Deer Pile (8 p.m. Thursday, free)
For all you guys and gals out there who just love the show where smart women had nothing to talk about but their boyfriends, tonight is your night —  kind of. Watch a couple of episodes of Sex and the City, while female comedians Mara Wiles, Jill Tasei, Miriam Moreno and Christie Buchele diss the shit out of the show. Sounds like an amazing concept — so show up for a Cosmo or seven.
