Update: Osaka Ramen will open tomorrow — Thursday, July 30 — at 11 a.m. with regular hours Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. (closed Sundays).
The "Coming Soon" banner in front of the Osaka Ramen in Cherry Creek North could be replaced by a "Now Open" sign any day now. Chef-owner Jeff Osaka says the only holdup is final sign-off from Xcel Energy on a new gas meter that was recently installed. Once that happens, he says it will only take about 24 hours to get the stock pots simmering and the ramen bowls brimming for new customers. So while that won't be today, the second Osaka Ramen — the first opened in River North in April — could be open by this weekend.
Customers can expect the same menu of ramen bowls, bento boxes and small plates, along with minimalist decor livened up by whimsical pig, chicken and Godzilla illustrations. The new space, which was formerly Ay Caramba Tortas, is cozier than the RiNo original, with seating for fewer than twenty on the main floor and another twenty or so split between tables and bar stools upstairs. And unlike the first Osaka Ramen, this one sports a shady patio out front.
We'll update you on hours as soon as the doors open.
