As Mark Antonation reported last week, there are two Ophelia's in the metro area: very different restaurants connected by nothing but a name. Ophelia's Electric Soapbox, which Gretchen Kurtz just reviewed, opened this spring in the Ballpark neighborhood; meanwhile, there's an Ophelia's in Olde Town Arvada, where Louise Vigil has been serving Mexican food and American diner fare for almost forty years. Both restaurants have their fans, but Jerod is partial to the Arvada Ophelia's:
Great diner food and atmosphere. Small town feel. Hopefully the yuppy fucks won't ruin this for the locals, too.Although it may be surprising to find two restaurants named Ophelia's, there are other duplicate names in metro Denver — three Hideaways, for example. What other examples can you think of?
