Last week, after we shared our latest "You Know You're From Denver When" punchlines, we asked readers to share their favorite way of completing that sentence.

One person, Matt Morava, went above and beyond the call, submitting an entire top ten list — one that we shared in the days that followed.

Lots of other folks weighed in as well, and not all of their suggestions were celebratory. Indeed, there was a critical edge to several of the selections, with Coloradans who want to keep the state to themselves among the targets. But there are also picks that echo with nostalgia or simple affection.

We photo-illustrated the ten most memorable picks. Check them out below.

Number 10: You know you're from Denver when...you think you're better than everyone who isn't native.

Number 9: You know you are from Denver when...you think Denver and Colorado is "yours."

Number 8: You know you're from Denver when...all of a sudden rent went up $400 on you.

Number 7: You know you're from Denver when...you actually respect the mountains unlike the new people that are moving to Colorado.

Number 6: You know you're from Denver when...you were part of the movement to legalize marijuana and get pissed off because everyone else from other states want to take advantage of it.

Number 5: You know you're from Denver when...you remember you could drive from Dry Creek to 104th in 20 mins....

Number 4: You know you're from Denver when...you called the Walgreens on Evans and Monoco the Rainbow Music Hall Walgreens.

Number 3: You know you're  from Denver when you switch lanes without looking about 25 miles above the speed limit.

Number 2: You know you're from Denver when your friends visit from sea level and get drunk after one drink.

Number 1: You know you're from Denver when...you see most women wear yoga pants for every occasion. Woo Hoo!!
