10 Things to Do for $10 in Denver This Weekend (8 Free!) September 11-13

The fun never stops in this city — even in the weeks after Labor Day. Want proof? This weekend, you can hang at a neighborhood music festival, ride your crazy little bike and hear about soul food. Tour de Fat Denver at City Park (10 a.m. Saturday, free-$10)
Grab your bike, put on a ridiculous costume and roll around the city with thousands of people today for the annual Tour de Fat. An incredibly fun and popular events, the traveling show is sponsored by New Belgium Brewing. In addition to rolling around, there's lots of beer, live music and a carnival of sorts. Colorado Chilefest at Centennial Center Park (10 a.m. Saturday-Sunday, free)
New Mexico claims to be the king of green chile, but Colorado has a right to the throne as well. We here at Westword have had this argument many times, but today you can sample and celebrate local chile and salsa yourself at this fiery new party. There will also be plenty of live entertainment, beer and kids activities. We all know tortilla chips are simple a spoon for salsa, so check out the line-up and get down here. 
Other Black will close out the Sunnyside Music Festival. Sunnyside Music Fest at Chaffee Park (11 a.m. Saturday, free)
This festival started in a backyard with fifty people fifteen years ago, and now takes over a park for an entire day. Get together with the community and enjoy seven bands of all flavors, so much beer, food and a mini market of all kinds of goods. Get more info here, and hopefully you'll be able to pick up a koozie. 

Fall Flea at Denver Performing Arts Complex Sculpture Park (12 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, free)
Join this huge market that offers way more than hunting for artisan treasures, which there will be plenty of. Play lawn games, check out a mini beer festival, groove to the music and try all kinds of food. Most importantly, RSVP here for a free beer.

Ridgefest at Ridge at 38 (3 p.m. Saturday, free)
The Ridge at 38 District is a really cool neighborhood, and they showcase it with these parties they throw a couple times a year. Check out what they're up to up there with food contests, home brewing competitions, field day games and live music. Peep the schedule to have fun in a new part of town.

Adrian Miller: Soul Food Scholar Reading/Signing/Tasting at BookBar (7 p.m. Saturday, free)
Mac-and-cheese, collard greens and corn bread are all irresistible food and important elements that make up American culinary history. Meet food writer, attorney, certified BBQ judge and author of Soul Food: The Surprising Story of an American Cuisine One Plate at a Time, Adrian Miller, who will read from the book and discuss the book that is meant as a love letter to African American cooks and learn the ins and outs of a proper soul food meal. Should be a delicious discussion. 

Ratio Comedy Presents: Adam Cayton-Holland & Marty DeRosa at Ratio Beerworks (8 p.m. Saturday, free)
We're getting really lucky tonight, because Adam Cayton-Holland and Marty DeRosa will grace us with their comedy for free. It's pretty cool to catch these popular jokesters in the back room of a brewery, surrounded by the sweet smell of hops. Get there early, this should be huge.

The Big Gay Football Day at Tracks (1 p.m. Sunday, free)
Maybe your bar last year didn't have the right mojo and jinxed the season for the Broncos. So, if you're looking to mix it up, kick off the new football season at a bar that knows how to party hard and cheer for the boys in blue and orange. The Ravens should make for an epic way to kick off the season. They're firing up the grills to tailgate an hour before the game and they also have the largest indoor LED screen in the city, so the action will be real.

Lucha Libre & Laughs: Crashed! Featuring Marty DeRosa at The Oriental Theater (7 p.m. Sunday, $10)
You have to go to Lucha Libre & Laughs if you haven't been yet, because it's two shows for one low price. There's a dozen of the city's best wrestlers jumping off the ropes and comedians Marty DeRosa, Matt Monroe, James Draper, and Miriam Moreno putting on a show for you too. Sam Tallent & Nathan Lund will always be there to drop the color comedy as well.

The Church of Coen Presents: The Man Who Wasn't There at Syntax Physic Opera (8 p.m. Sunday, free)
It's that time of the month — the time to worship the holy Coen Brothers. This month, the neo-noir crime film, The Man Who Wasn't There, staring Billy Bob Thornton and Frances McDormand is sure to please all followers. There's always more to learn about the films at the service, and  Sonya Clark will offer a musical selection following the film. That's ending the weekend on a positive note.
