For those who insist on experiencing 4:29 p.m. October 21, 2015 in all its exactitude, this Boulder McFly party starts at 4:29 on the dot tomorrow at the Boulder Public Library with a screening of Back to the Future II. More than a mere screening, the event will blast off into a party afterward at 6:30 p.m., with a BTTF playlist performed live by the Seers, a costume contest and photo ops with a DeLorean and Doc Brown’s flux capacitor. Into trivia? The Boulder International Film Festival will also unveil its list of the choicest time-travel films in cinema history.

Off-Center@The Jones starts a new season with its anything-goes improv party Cult Following, which pays homage to the BTTF phenomenon with its own wacky, 18+, audience-participation version of Marty McFly’s adventures in 2015. Also: Drinks! The bar opens at 7:30 p.m., and Rocky Mountain DeLorean will kick in a display car for selfies and general gawking.

Though the Alamo Drafthouse’s coveted Back to the Future marathon is sold out, that's not the only place in town to hear the pop-rock strains of Huey Lewis and the News and “The Power of Love.” The Sie will be celebrating the backwards future, too, with a screening of BTTF II, followed by a free ‘80s dance party in the lobby and spins by DJ Hollow. Put on your self-tying dancing shoes!

If you can wait a couple of weeks, the 88MPH Film and Music Tour, a penultimate BTTF experience, will be hitting the Paramount wth a complete package of trivial pursuits, beginning with a screening of a new, star-studded BTTF documentary, Back in Time. While the film will be available on Netflix beginning October 21 (when it also premieres in Los Angeles), the touring version includes a concert by the Flux Capacitors; a Q&A with the filmmakers; a real, live DeLorean time machine and original cast member Claudia Wells, known for her BTTF role as Marty McFly’s girlfriend, Jennifer Parker.
Symphony at the Movies: Back to the Future

“Doc, we’re not goin’ back, now!” Yes, even the Colorado Symphony Orchestra gets into the BTTF spirit with Symphony at the Movies night: Conductor Christopher Dragon will lead the CSO through the original BTTF's Alan Silvestri score during a big-screen viewing at Boettcher Hall. And guess what? The CSO reminds fans that a time machine won’t be needed to attend this 2015 concert. We’re already here — minus the hoverboards.
