Three Things to Do for Free in Denver This Week, November 30-December 3

This week kicks off the one of the craziest months of the year. So that you can afford all the travel and gift-giving required by the holidays, save some cash and check out the cool free events this week. You can rub elbows with the DJs, learn ski history and have some judgmental laughter as well. Vinyl Mondays with Night Brunch at hi-dive (9 p.m. Monday, free)
After the long weekend, unwind with spins from some of the smoothest DJs in town. Night Brunch, the collective of Lucas Rouge and Doug and Haley of Snake Rattle Rattle Snake fame, take over the turntables and play the hits at hi-dive tonight. They've paired these tasty treats with zany pop tunes a few times now, so the night's only going to get better - like a fine, aged maple syrup.

Caryn and Peter Boddie Author Event at Tattered Cover Aspen Grove (7 p.m. Tuesday, free)
Colorado outdoor writing team Caryn and Peter Boddie present their second book documenting the lost ski areas of the central and southern mountains of our state. If you love hitting the slopes, you'll really love hearing these two discuss the history of ski resorts past, like Whittaker Ranch, which consisted of only a tow rope and a hut. Hear the history and then pick up a book or two for the people on your gift list. 

Two Truths & a Lie at Deer Pile (9:30 p.m. Thursday, free)
Before heading into the weekend, have a confusing chuckle at Deer Pile. Comedians Rachel Weeks, Steve Vanderploeg, Nicolai Roscoe and Zac Maas have whales of tales to tell you — although some of them are completely made up. It's up to the audience to decipher who can fabricate a lie so big that they can fool the crowd, and who's going straight to the chair. This interactive comedy show will end your work week on a high note.
