The Institute for Non-Bizarre Treatment
Access Gallery/VSA Arts of Colorado
January 15 through February 5
Opening reception: 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 15
RedLine resource resident Tracy Tomko curated this group show with the mission of VSA Arts in mind: While the nonprofit fosters art experiences for people with disabilities, Tomko asked artists Natrisha Bayer, John Haley III, Deborah Jang, Brenda LaBier, Katie Taft, Frankie Toan, Robert Treta and Katie Watson to create curative, interactive works meant to provide relief from the garden-variety adversities we all face in everyday life, from anxiety to insomnia. This is a show that demands participation, and gallery-goers will be asked for suggestions toward the formation of a new device on opening night. Have some fun!
