Penny Parker, longtime reporter and On the Town columnist for the Rocky Mountain News, the Denver Post and then Blacktie Colorado, passed away on January 2. There will be a celebration of Penny's life from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, January 22, at the EXDO Event Center, 1399 35th Street in Denver.

At the celebration, Penny's friends and fans will share memories and excerpts from her columns over snacks and cocktails (cash bar). Admission is free, but donations to one of Penny's favorite charities — Sense of Security, the First Tee and the Denver Dumb Friends League — are strongly encouraged, as are reservations. Please RSVP to blacktie-colorado.com/rsvp and use the code PennyParker.

And yes, because this is an event in Penny's honor, there will be a valet.
