Restaurant Roll Call: All the Openings and Closings in Denver in March

The pace of restaurant opening increased dramatically over March and into this week, culminating in what almost seemed like an April Fool's Day joke, with six bars and restaurants opening today or tomorrow. March saw Justin Brunson's new American grill, Masterpiece Kitchen, open in Lowry; a second Steuben's debut in Arvada; Grind Kitchen + Libations open in Cherry Creek and Via Perla start cooking in Boulder, to name just a few.

But there were also a couple of temporary closures due to fire. Leña experienced a kitchen fire earlier this week but expects to reopen after the weekend; it will roll out a new menu at the same time. The damage was more severe when an electrical fire broke out at School House Kitchen and Libations in Old Town Arvada; the place remains closed. Fortunately no employees were injured in either fire, and fundraising efforts are helping to keep employees on the payroll until the School House can reopen.
