But not according to the folks at Blue Starlite Mini Urban Drive-In, a hipster attraction that got its start in Austin, Texas, before branching out to Miami.
And now, Blue Starlite is coming to Minturn, in the Vail Valley — and the results will be what the company touts as "the highest drive-in in the United States."
The official announcement was shared via an April 20 tweet — and the choice of date wasn't coincidental:

We concentrate on childhood favorites, drive-in classics, indie films, art house, Cult, and Gen X/Y pop culture faves . A new drive-in experience is born right in the heart of the city.
We ARE the drive- in movie theater for the modern age.
The drive-in will be based in Little Beach Park, the paper notes, and will use a thirty-foot pop-up screen and contract with local businesses to provide food and other concessions.
Opening night is scheduled for July 6. Costs will range from $8 to $30, and those sans cars will be able to watch and listen in a lawn area.
Also quoted is Blue Starlite owner Josh Frank, who said in a press release, “We are thrilled to be bringing the Blue Starlite experience to Colorado for the first time. Minturn is the perfect location to create a one-of-a-kind drive-in experience.”
Gates will open at 7:15 p.m., with the first showtime getting under way at 8:30 p.m. Gates for the second show open at 10:45 p.m. for 11:15 p.m. screenings.
