The events in this town are as hot as the temperature. This week you can take in some flash fiction, check out a new game show or meet a rising comic — all for free. See the Westword calendar for even more entertainment options, and let us know if we missed any bargains.

2nd Annual Fbomb Flash Fiction Festival: Elvis Luau
Mercury Cafe
7:30 p.m. Tuesday, free

Flash-fiction pioneer Nancy Stohlman will present an evening of readings by professional and amateur authors alike. Throw on your Elvis-inspired luau look and then enjoy a fast flood of words by writers Christopher Bowen, David S. Atkinson, April Bradley and Mathias Svalina as well as Stohlman. Audience members are encouraged to get flashy on stage, too.

You Do What!?
The Deer Pile
9 p.m. Tuesday, free

If you were a kid in the '90s, you might remember the Nickelodeon game show Figure It Out.  Katie Bowman and Emily Coates bring back that show's strategy every third Tuesday at Deer Pile with You Do What!?, when a panel of local comedians tries to guess the talents of the secret surprise guests. At the end of the show, the guests showcase those talents. What!? You get to enjoy both a free game show and a free talent show on a Tuesday night!
