On Sunday, August 14, Westword will host Tacolandia, a celebration of the city's street tacos in all their tortilla-wrapped glory. Join us at Sports Authority Field to enjoy unlimited samples from many of Denver's top taquerias, cantinas, Mexican restaurants and food trucks. Joining the taco action is East Colfax Avenue staple Southside Bar & Kitchen.

Southside will be slinging carnitas slow-cooked and shredded in-house and anointed with pineapple sauce, pickled onions and tomatillo verde salsa. And if that's not enough, how about fish tacos served on a flour tortilla with guacamole, cabbage and house salsa blanco and mango habanero salsa?

Taco Tuesdays are only the start of the specials at Southside, where a buck will land you those meaty carnitas tacos. Head over on Thursdays for the same deal or bring an extra dollar on Fridays for the bigger fish tacos.

For a taste of tacos from Southside — and from the north, east and west sides of Denver, too — pick up Tacolandia tickets for $40 for general admission, which gets you unlimited food samples and entertainment from 4 to 7 p.m.; a $75 VIP ticket includes early entry into the event at 3 p.m., plus two Estrella Jalisco beers and plenty of surprises...including food from chef Jamey Fader of Lola.

Get your tickets now at westwordtacolandia.com. (If you hurry, you still may be able to snag a fiesta four-pack: four GA tickets for just $100.)
