Q: I love to eat gyros sandwiches at restaurants, and I'd also like to make them at home. Is that possible?

A:It sure is, especially if you head over to one of Denver's oldest ethnic markets, Economy Greek Market (1035 Lincoln Street, 303-861-3001), where the meat ‹ either beef or lamb or a combination of both ‹ can be bought pre-sliced or off the cone. I prefer the meat off the cone, since it's moister and has a stronger flavor. A pound is enough for four servings; reheat it in the microwave or in a skillet (a pan is preferable; it gives the meat nice, crispy edges with more concentrated flavors) and then tuck it into a pita. Economy also stocks homemade tzatziki sauce.
