DC 10, the cool new flight-themed club at 940 Lincoln Street, hit some turbulence last week when part-owner Thanh Hau was arrested on drug charges. The 22-year-old entrepreneur, along with 37 other individuals (thirteen of whom are still at large), was indicted by a Denver grand jury. All are facing numerous counts of possession, distribution and money-laundering, but Hau was reportedly the leader of a multi-state ring that dealt in large amounts of marijuana and ecstasy.

The investigation began in March 2005, when Weld County drug task-force agents were narcing on other ecstasy distributors. The pill-paved road eventually led the Drug Enforcement Agency to an organized circuit of mostly young dealers and conspirators with operation bases in Denver, San Francisco and Seattle. As a result of the arrests, the DEA seized 95 pounds of high-grade marijuana, three indoor-grow operations containing more than 414 marijuana plants, over 1,500 tablets of MDMA (that's E to you ravers) and approximately $704,000 in cash and assets.

The recorded message at DC 10 says this: "With all of our media coverage over the last couple days, we'd like to thank our loyal customers for our first-class lounge. We invite you down as we continue to provide the hottest spot in Denver and the hottest guests." Hot is right.

Fadó Irish Pub, at 1735 19th Street, just finished a half-million-dollar renovation and celebrated with a grand reopening last Thursday. The overhaul fuses a modern Irish aesthetic with a pub's traditional atmosphere. There's less wood and more chrome, with finger food added to the menu and up-to-date pop and rock music now featured. "It represents what's going on in Ireland today, complemented with a new approach to music and a new approach to food," says manager Eric Peterson. "It's definitely an old-meets-new feel, for sure."

Fadó is locally operated but part of a national chain of Irish-inspired bars. Find out more at www.fadoirishpub.com or call the Denver branch at 303-297-0066.

Hot tip: Just in time for those frigid winter nights, Sputnik, at 7 South Broadway, has installed a full espresso bar -- which opens at 7 a.m.! Now you can get drunk and wired. And for an old-lady kind of good time, the bar has brought back Bingo Nights every Sunday, hosted by local comic dude Ben Kronberg. Get those markers ready.
