Zeile for Art

"After almost six years of running a gallery here, you start to make some kind of sense out of the business, but one thing that will never make sense to me is how some of the best artists can also be the most ignored," says Ivar Zeile of + Gallery, in a show of loyalty to abstract painter Bruce Price and imaginative assemblage artist John McEnroe. "If they were working elsewhere, they'd both be knocking 'em out of the ballpark," he adds emphatically. Both are featured in shows opening today at Zeile's gallery.

McEnroe's Rococo Nuovo, a wall-mounted installation of giant, silvery foil-like blobs, and Price's The Plane Upon Which Events Happen, a series of new large-scale canvases, remain on view through May 26 along with an accompanying exhibit of works by Evan Colbert. Meet the artists at a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. April 26 or at an artist talk at 6 p.m. May 18.

The gallery is at 2350 Lawrence Street; call 303-296-0927 or visit www.plusgallery.com.
