Tonight's second-annual Art Bash at the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design can take a licking and keep on ticking. That's because participating RMCAD students, alumni, faculty and guest artists have fashioned a wide array of decorative clocks as part of a fundraiser for the Philip J. Steele Foundation, a nonprofit focusing on student scholarships. "We provided the clocks," says vice president for campus services Lisa Steele. "We told them they could do whatever they wanted with them, but we preferred the clocks to work. Last year we did boxes, and one of the students ground his into sawdust." Steele is impressed with the results. "Some of them are more clocky than others," she concedes, "but the quality is really quite high."

The Bash begins at 6 p.m. at the Philip J. Steele Gallery on the RMCAD campus, 1600 Pierce Street in Lakewood. Admission is free, and light refreshments and beverages will be provided. Learn more at 303-225-8574 or www.rmcad.edu.
