Im part of a paranormal research investigations team, explains playwright and Hunger Artist Maggie Stillman, so when we decided to do something for Hal-loween, we wanted to tell ghost stories, because thats what people want to hear. I made a list of what I believe to be the crème de la crème of the ghost stories Ive heard, and I went and did an investigation at each location and brought back evidence. Then I mixed my lore and my evidence into five vignettes.
The resulting play is set at the Stanley Hotel, the Melting Pot Restaurant and a few other locales including the Byers-Evans House Museum, 1310 Bannock Street, where Haunted is being staged. There are ghost stories within the play, says Stillman. We have real actors telling the ghost stories from the perspective of real people who experienced the events and the historical people who were involved in them.
Haunted takes the stage tonight at 9:30 p.m. and continues through November 2; tickets are $13 to $15. Visit www.hungerartists.org or call 303-893-5438.
