Season’s Greeting

Ski bums, it’s here: The 18th annual Colorado Ski & Snowboard Expo is back, promising the usual bargains and the latest snow-sports gear, as well as a convention hall’s worth of fun things to do in between aisle-perusing. New this year, you’ll find Olympian Doug Lewis’s Eliteam Training Center, an interactive gym where kids can muscle up using specialized training apparatus, and the Olympic Salute, featuring presentations by Lewis and other top winter athletes, including mogul skiing gold-medalist Donna Weinbrecht and freestyle skier and Olympic coach Fuzz Federsen. And old favorites such as the artificial learn-to-ski slope for tykes, climbing wall, antic competitions and live entertainment, will also be back. There’s no better — or comfortably familiar — way to tune up for another ski season.

Attend the expo at the Colorado Convention Center, 700 14th Street, today from noon to 10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. or Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; admission is $12, free for children ages twelve and under.
