World AIDS Day is a somber event, but you can still mark it in fabulous style at the Red Ball: A Night of Frost and Fire. Although raising funds for the Colorado AIDS Project is at the heart of the event, the soul is all about enjoying hot local fashions and frosty, cutting-edge hairstyles. "For so many people, World AIDS Day comes and goes without anything drawing people's attention," says the Red Ball’s Michael Lee. "So we were looking for something that was completely different. The goal is a party atmosphere, so much of the night is going to be a dance party. It's not just showing up and participating in another fundraiser."

The party begins tonight at 7 p.m. at the SugarCube Building, 1555 Blake Street, with fire dancers and an open-bar cocktail hour, which will be followed by a Fiery Fashion and Frosty Hair Show with emcee Kirk Montgomery of Channel 9. Immediately after the show, the runway will turn into a dance floor, and many of the fashions will be sold at a silent auction, with the proceeds going to the Colorado AIDS Project.

Tickets are $30 for anyone age thirty and under, $50 for general admission and $75 for VIP. For more information, go to www.redballdenver.org/redball or call 303-962-5304.
