The holiday season would come unwrapped without some tongue-in-cheek striptease fun, which burlesque queens Reyna Von Vett (aka Cora Vette) and Michelle Baldwin (aka Vivienne VaVoom), the power flirts behind Black Box Burlesque, are happy to provide in the form of Naughty Noel.

"We'll have group numbers and stripping Santa Clauses and live vocals," Von Vett explains. "I like to uncover these weird old songs; one of the songs for this show is an old Ella Fitzgerald song called 'Santa Claus Got Caught in My Chimney.' Expect antics, hijinks and shenanigans — basically, if I can twist it and make it dirty, I will." Yowza!

The show is at Bender's Tavern, 314 East 13th Avenue, which might seem like an unusual venue for a burlesque show, but it’s really a match made in heaven, according to Von Vett. "It's a nice space, and it's got a great sound system," she notes. "It's definitely different, but actually it's kind of great, because we're bringing a kind of theater to the bar that normally wouldn't have it. The demographic and location are exactly right."

Get naughty with Cora Vette and Vivienne VaVoom starting tonight and continuing every Thursday through December 17 at 8:30 p.m. at Bender's. Admission is $10 in advance, $12 day of show, and cabaret seating is available — but Black Box Burlesque's last show at Bender's was standing room only, so get there at 8, when the doors open. Thursdays, 8:30 p.m. Starts: Dec. 3. Continues through Dec. 17, 2009
