"We'll have group numbers and stripping Santa Clauses and live vocals," Von Vett explains. "I like to uncover these weird old songs; one of the songs for this show is an old Ella Fitzgerald song called 'Santa Claus Got Caught in My Chimney.' Expect antics, hijinks and shenanigans basically, if I can twist it and make it dirty, I will." Yowza!
The show is at Bender's Tavern, 314 East 13th Avenue, which might seem like an unusual venue for a burlesque show, but its really a match made in heaven, according to Von Vett. "It's a nice space, and it's got a great sound system," she notes. "It's definitely different, but actually it's kind of great, because we're bringing a kind of theater to the bar that normally wouldn't have it. The demographic and location are exactly right."
