In the local fashion world, Fallene Wells is the talk of the town. A hairstylist by trade and designer/homemade fashion show impresario by dream, she makes witty, comfortable clothing that’s a kick to look at and even more fun to wear. See for yourself when Fancy Tiger Clothing showcases Wells and her latest denim- and plaid-heavy Let ’Em Have It collection at tonight’s monthly Denver Made trunk show.

“One of the most interesting things about Fallene is that she’s completely self-taught as a designer. I know a lot of those, but not a lot of them are designing at the same caliber,” says Fancy Tiger fashion guru Matthew Brown. “Also, she’s really committed to staying in Denver. The others seem to leave when they begin to get big; that tends to be a pattern. But even more so, I love the style of the work that she’s doing; it’s the kind of stuff I would make if I was making clothes. She makes pieces that look retro but aren’t, combining ’50s and ’60s silhouettes with a strong modern element. And she’s done it all on her own DIY ethic.”
