Truly, the colorful get-ups namely, the trademark masks and the sports outsized theatrics are a recipe for all-ages entertainment. Its like WWF meets Bozo the Clown, without all the bad haircuts. Floriano, who is a trainer, promoter and general jack-of-all-trades for Denver wrestling company IWF Promotions, says tonights main event is a particular draw because it pits the well-known Mexican fighter El Hijo de Rey Misterio against one of his fathers former students, El Misterioso. (El Hijos father, Rey Misterio, was himself a famous wrestler.) ¡Que rivalry!
The evening will feature five fights total, two with American fighters; one event matches up a pair of Americans against two Mexicans. This is the first time IWF will be hosting a lucha at Red & Jerrys, and Floriano hopes to start having monthly bouts. The show starts at 5:30 p.m. at 1840 West Oxford Avenue in Sheridan. Tickets are $15 or $20, five bucks more at the door. Kids get in two-for-one $9 in advance, $10 at the door. For more information, go to www.iwfpromotions.com or call 702-328-7728
