This is the inaugural exhibition, notes The Nature of Things spokesperson Chris DAleo. So itll evolve in years to come, but this is setting the groundwork well. There was always in the plan space dedicated to a contemporary art exhibition, and to have it be really representative of the whole hemisphere -- drawing artists works from a variety of countries. Its just the idea that artists can provide a lens to address some of the issues overarching to the whole biennial: communication, sustainability, community. Its creating a dialogue.
The opening gala is in the McNichols Building at Civic Center Park, 144 West Colfax Avenue, where The Nature of Things will be on display through July 31. Admission to the gala is $75 to $200; after that, admission to the building is free. Learn more at www.biennialoftheamericas.org.
