Presumably the Victorian re-creation wont stretch to fainting because your corset is too tight, but it will include learning about the tarantulas anatomy, habitat, diet and cultural significance through interactive displays. Several of the species will be out for up-close examination; youll even be able to hold Rosie, a Chilean Rose Hair tarantula.
The class runs from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Butterfly Pavilion, 6252 West 104th Avenue in Westminster, and repeats on October 15 and November 5. Tickets are $15, or $8.50 for Pavilion members; for more information, visit www.butterflies.org or call 303-469-5441.
