In addition to the march, the days activities will include music, dancing, poetry, refreshments and César Chávez leadership awards given to one woman, one man and one young person who best exemplify the qualities of the farm workers advocate. We want to bring attention not only to all the struggles that have gone on in the past, but also take a hard look at whats happening now, says Fajardo.
Todays commemoration will start with a mass at St. Anthony of Padua, 3801 West Ohio Avenue, at 8:45 a.m.; the march will go from there to the Denver Indian Center, 4407 Morrison Road, the site of the rest of the activities.
