This recent batch of paintings thirteen in all are somewhat different from his previous work, reflecting Bergs ever-evolving process. Im experimenting with an inner dialogue, and Im amazed at whats inside me, he says. Painting is for self-discovery, pushing the envelope of human consciousness, pushing what we call life.
Berg must be in a good place mentally, because his hypnotic relationship with pigment has resulted in some very cheery and lyrical paintings. Share in the glow tonight at Ironton Studios and Gallery, 3636 Chestnut Place, during an opening reception from 7 to 10 p.m. For more information, go to www.irontonstudios.com.
