Swapping Style

Have a gorgeous handbag or a pair of designer shoes you love to death but can't ever seem to find the right outfit for? Tonight's And Then She Saved Accessories Swap is here to help. And organizers Anna Newell-Jones and Tran Wills are stepping up the game with a call for high-quality, gently used accessories for a night of accoutrement trades and handbag giveaways.

Here's how it works: Swappers are asked to bring ten pieces -- purses, shoes, jewelry and hats -- to the Curtis Hotel at 6:30 p.m., where all of the items will be inspected for quality and wear. The trading begins at 7:30 p.m., along with a DIY button-making station, $5 manicures and pedicures from Tootsies the Nail Shoppe, dessert snacks from Pastel and the sweet sounds of DJ El Brian. Three brand-new designer purses will also be given away by Handbags.com as prizes for an on-the-spot handbag design contest.

"We want everyone to walk away excited by the gems they find," says Wills. Last year's event brought out more than fifty women and hundreds of items to trade. This year, the larger hotel space will provide more room for participants to shop and mingle.

The swap runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Curtis, 1405 Curtis Street. Along with ten items to swap, there's a $5 admission charge, with a portion of the door's proceeds going to SafeHouse Denver. For more information, visit www.andthenshesaved.com.
