“Reading a book can be a very solitary experience; you usually sit and read by yourself,” says Lighthouse’s Kristin Pazulski. “Light-house’s mission is to bring literature to the forefront of the cultural community and have people talk about it and realize its importance — that it’s not something we just do for leisure, but something that helps educate us and actually brings the community together.”
The Big Read kicks off at 5:30 p.m. at the McNichols Building, 144 West Colfax Avenue, with dramatic readings from the book by Stories on Stage, tunes from Swallow Hill Music, free copies of the novel (while supplies last), and sign-ups for book discussions in the coming months.
