Dance and Romance

The latest incarnation of Love, Wonderbound’s Valentine’s Day performance, is the third show in seven years that the company has named after the most famous human emotion. “The work that I do commonly enters into the world of personal, intimate relationships, and we’ll have live music, dancing and poetry layered to create a really rich, textural experience,” says artistic director Garrett Ammon.

:Two of the pieces, “When the Power Goes Out” and “For the Love of Pete,” are from Wonderbound’s back catalog, and artist Sarah Tallman created a new performance that she’ll premiere in this incarnation of Love. “It’s going to be a fun, romantic, multi-layered experience,” Ammon promises. “It’s not just a dance performance. It’s bringing all of these different art forms to create a fully immersive evening. That’s really what we’ve come to be most proud of in our work. And if you’ve never seen Wonderbound, we can’t even begin to describe what the dancing looks like.”

:The show runs tonight, tomorrow and Sunday at the Performing Arts Complex at Pinnacle Charter School, 1001 West 84th Avenue in Federal Heights; tickets are $19 to $47 and can be purchased at wonderbound.com. Call 303-292-4700 for more information.
